One line
Marrow is a free iOS app that puts every Apple Health metric, your meals and your workouts in one place, and gives the data back as files, automations, or a live MCP connection so an AI assistant can read it from your own iPhone.
Facts
- Name: Marrow (App Store listing: Marrow Health). Developer: Aidan Hall, publishing as Skeleton Army. Released 2026.
- Price: free. No account, no subscription, no ads, no analytics SDK. iOS 17 or later.
- 178 data series: 172 Apple Health types plus a native meal diary and strength log.
- Food logging by photo, barcode, or offline USDA search; 39 nutrients per meal, written back to Apple Health.
- Strength and cardio logging with per-exercise 1RM and volume charts and a muscle-group map.
- Export: CSV, JSON, GPX; scheduled pushes to any URL; optional self-hosted mirror (open source, MIT,
pip install marrow-mcp). - MCP: a Model Context Protocol server runs on the phone (seven read-only tools, bearer token, Streamable HTTP), off by default. Listed in the official MCP registry as
tech.skeletonarmy/marrow. Claude Desktop one-click bundle available. - Privacy: health data stays on the device unless the user sends it somewhere. Meal photos go through a proxy that strips metadata and stores nothing. Full policy: /privacy.

Background
Built solo without a Mac (GitHub Actions is the build machine) by a student who wanted his own health data in one place and could not get it out of the apps that held it. The paid incumbent for Apple Health export charges for automations and MCP; Marrow ships both free and keeps the data on the phone.
